Class 7!

In class today we played Hebrew bingo with the text of the Yotzer Or blessing. For homework this week, please continue to practice reading the Yotzer Or blessing, for at least 25 minutes a week.

Here's a link to someone reading the blessing aloud. Read along to learn it better, or to check your own awesome reading skills!

Class 4!

Homework can be found on our class website, here. You'll see it's the same from last week. Due to a rambunctious class last week, we'll be covering the same material on 10/11, so please use this extra time (though I'm mentioning this late!) to review the material. Next class we'll have our textbooks, hopefully, thank you so much for bearing with me!

Thanks as always,
Ariana

Class 3!

In Hebrew this week, we played Hebrew tic-tac-toe to continue to reinforce basic reading skills (and to get three in a row.) Students made their own boards, and wrote Hebrew words. To make an "x" or an "o," students had to read the word correctly.

For homework this week: Please read pages 5, 7, and 8 for reading practice, and reading raffle.
You can download the pages if you don't have the textbook via this link.

Thanks for bearing with us as we transition! Each student will have their own text, the Getting Up To Speed text is solely an interim!

Shanah tovah u'metukah!

And away we go!

Welcome to the blog for the yarok (green) Hebrew reading group at ARS! Here you'll find homework and interesting Hebrew-related online content! For info on our Jewish studies class, check out our blog, or our class wiki (you'll need to create an account for the wiki.)

For homework this week, please read the first three pages in Getting Up to Speed. We'll be using this textbook for the first few weeks, to remember all the Hebrew we might have forgotten over the summer.

Every week, students are required to fill out a Reading Raffle card, in addition to assigned reading and writing homework. Our cards are green. Students should read for at least 5 minutes every night, and have a parent or guardian sign off on it. Each card is entered in our class-wide and school-wide raffle, to win fabulous prizes and learn lots of Hebrew!

See y'all next week! Please contact me with any questions!
